Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

This notice explains how personal data may be processed when you visit dialynasengineering.com or contact Filippos Dialynas through the details provided on this website.

1. Who is responsible?

The website operator and data controller is Filippos Dialynas. For privacy questions or requests, email fdialynas@dialynasengineering.com .

2. What data is processed and why?

  • Basic website operation and security: The website is hosted by GitHub Pages. When a page is requested, GitHub may process technical information such as your IP address, requested page, time of request, browser and device information, and referring page in service or security logs. The controller does not use this website to build visitor profiles.
  • Theme preference: If you change the display theme, your selected preference is saved in your browser's local storage under the key theme. It is used only to remember your display choice on a later visit. It is not a cookie and is not sent to the controller by the website.
  • Messages you choose to send: This website has no contact form. If you select an email link, your email application opens and you decide whether to send a message. If you do, the controller will process the information in that message and your contact details to respond and, where relevant, discuss a potential professional engagement.
  • External links: Links to services such as LinkedIn take you to those providers only when you choose to follow them. Their own privacy notices apply to your use of those services.

The site does not currently use advertising, analytics, embedded social-media content, or a website contact form. Website content is generated as a static site; visitor information is not submitted to the site's content data source. The controller does not make decisions about you by automated means or use this website to profile visitors.

3. Lawful bases

  • Technical request and security information: the controller's legitimate interests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in making the website available, maintaining its security, and diagnosing service issues. The hosting provider may also process data for its own purposes and under its own legal obligations.
  • A message you send: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) where your enquiry concerns a potential engagement; otherwise, the controller's legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in responding to correspondence.
  • Theme preference: the controller's legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in providing and remembering a display preference you choose.

4. Who may receive data?

GitHub provides the website hosting service and may process technical request information as described in its privacy statement. If you email the controller, the email providers used to send, receive, and store that message will also process it. If you follow an external link, the destination provider processes your visit under its own terms.

These providers may process data in countries outside the European Economic Area. For information about their locations and any applicable transfer safeguards, please consult their privacy information.

5. How long is data kept?

The controller keeps correspondence only for as long as needed to respond, manage any resulting professional relationship, and meet applicable legal requirements, after which it is deleted or securely retained only where required by law. The controller does not set or control GitHub's technical log retention; please refer to GitHub's privacy information for details. A theme preference remains in your browser's local storage until you clear it.

6. Your rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in the GDPR, you may ask the controller to:

  • Access your personal data and receive a copy.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase data or restrict its processing.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Receive data you provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, where the right to portability applies.

Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. The controller will stop unless there are compelling legitimate grounds or the data is needed for legal claims. You may also lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, the supervisory authority in Greece, or with the supervisory authority where you live or work.

To exercise a right, email fdialynas@dialynasengineering.com . The controller will respond within one month, subject to any extension permitted by the GDPR, and may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity.

7. Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated if the website's features or data practices change. The latest version and its update date will be published on this page.
